With all of the needs the Arizona Cardinals have, this is a reminder that running back is not one of them. With David Johnson returning and still have Kerwynn Williams, Elijhaa Penny, and T.J. Logan in the mix, there really isn’t the need to chase a free agent.
Adrian Peterson is going to get his release, so you can count him out as well. D.J Foster was a nice story for about 10 minutes but he likely has slim chances of being on the 2018 roster. Also, don’t look for the Cardinals to draft a back.
There was some Customized Arizona Cardinals Jersey chatter around the league and even some comments were made about running back Doug Martin, just released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his availability. The Cardinals don’t need him.
This isn’t to say the Cardinals may not add another body at the position come training camp, it is just the Cardinals aren’t going to go out and actively pursue anyone. There is enough talent here already.
Don’t sleep on Logan either. The kid had his rookie season cut extremely short with a season-ending injury in the first preseason game last August.
Although Logan is a kick return specialist, he could see action in spots at his given position of running back. Williams still makes a good second back on the roster.
It is quite a turn of events as far as the Cardinals are concerned though. Over the years prior to Johnson arriving, every year it seemed the Cardinals were searching for a back that could produce like he has to this point.
The Cardinals need to spend more time and money bettering the offensive line. That is where the running game will get a boost.
Having a decent offensive line will open up the passing game. That, in turn, opens up the running game. Enter workhorse David Johnson.
it will be interesting to see how head coach Steve Wilks utilizes Johnson, especially coming off a season-ending injury. However it Cheap nfl Jerseys should be expected he will still attempt to get him the ball 20-25 times a game. It would be silly not to.
