Cheap Jerseys Long time coming: Thomas Davis scores 1st NFL touchdown
He couldn’t have picked a better time, though.

Davis’ 46-yard fumble return for a touchdown on the first series of the game got the Carolina Panthers off on the right foot and set the tone for their 30-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium.

Davis was all smiles afterward, although he wasn’t sure that the touchdown was going to count until replays confirmed the fumble.

“It definitely feels good to get into the end zone Cheap nfl Jerseys and have it actually count this time,” Davis, a 12-year veteran linebacker said. “I’ve had about three or four called back, and I thought that one was going to get called back, too. Everyone was asking me why didn’t you celebrate? But they reviewed it, it counted, and it was a huge momentum shift for our football team to start the game.”

Davis had scored a touchdown previously, but it came in a preseason game against Miami two years ago.

The Cardinals took the opening kickoff and picked up one first down before facing a third-and-six from their 43. Quarterback Carson Palmer dropped back to pass but was hit by defensive tackle Star Lotuleiei. Palmer was trying to get rid of the ball in the form of a shuttle pass, but the ball came loose, hit the ground, and Davis was there to scoop it up at the 46.

Davis stiff-armed running back David Johnson, then Customized Jerseys raced untouched the rest of the way down the right sideline for the 7-0 lead with 11:48 left in the first quarter.

All touchdowns and change of possessions are automatically reviewed, and replay officials confirmed it was a fumble, not an incomplete pass, although Palmer complained that it was “an obvious pass.”

“For a second, I thought it was incomplete,” Davis said. “I did. But the way we practice here, we take everything to the end zone and then we let the refs make the decision on whether it’s incomplete or a fumble or not. But everything we do, we take it to the end zone.”

He smiled at the nifty stiff-arm that allowed him to escape Johnson.

“It just kinda worked out,” Davis said. “I saw him Carolina Panthers Jerseys and the first thing I thought about was not letting the first guy tackle me and then see what was going to happen after that. I was able to separate from him with the stiff arm, and then I ended up in the end zone.”

The Panthers tacked on touchdowns on their first two offensive possessions, both on runs by Jonathan Stewart, for a 21-0 lead after one quarter.

From there, the Panthers were able to pin their ears back defensively and tee off on Palmer the rest of the afternoon. The Panthers finished with five sacks and also had an interception, by defensive end Kony Ealy.

Davis said he considered the defensive effort a sign of things to come as the Panthers try to crawl out of a 2-5 hole to start the season. He was particularly impressed with Loltuleilei, who was credited with three sacks and five total tackles.

“This is the kind of football team we feel we’re capable of being,” Davis said. “It was about going out and showing it today, on the front end, on the back end. We did what we’ve been talking about all season long. We gave the d-line time to get there and I think the results speak for themselves.

“Those guys got after the quarterback today. I definitely think it was a statement game for them. They’ve taken criticism all year long and I feel like it was unjust, but at the end of the day you have to play together as a group. You have to play well on the back end to give them time to get there, and vice versa.”

Davis stopped short of saying that the Panthers turned their season around on Sunday, though.

“It’s just one win,” he said. “Our goal right now is to win one game each week for the rest of the season. We’re focused on that as a group. We felt all season long that we’ve had what it takes to get the job done in this locker room, but the result hasn’t turned out that way. But it feels good to be back on the winning side of things. Hopefully we can build on this.”

Cheap Jerseys Rex Ryan’s explanation on why Bills played LeSean McCoy falls short
It’s debatable whether Mike Gillislee starting over LeSean McCoy would have made a difference in the outcome of the Buffalo Bills’ 28-25 loss Sunday to the Miami Dolphins, but it would have been difficult for Gillislee to do worse than a hobbled McCoy, who finished with 11 yards on eight carries.

It’s easy to second guess the Bills’ decision to allow Cheap nfl Jerseys McCoy to play in the game only four days after injuring his hamstring in last Wednesday’s practice. Had McCoy somehow been more effective, few would be scrutinizing the decision this week.

But let’s face it: The odds were against McCoy performing well in the game, and the Bills should take heat for their decision to play him. McCoy missing Thursday’s practice and being “very limited,” in his words, in Friday’s practice should have been all the information the team needed to sit McCoy and start their healthier runner, Gillislee.

Instead, coach Rex Ryan’s policy is that star players Customized Jerseys such as McCoy or receiver Sammy Watkins don’t need to practice during the week in order to play. That opened the door for McCoy to impress the team’s medical staff enough during warm-up drills Sunday to have them sign off on him playing.

“He got clearance from our medical personnel,” Ryan explained Monday. “That’s a variety of tests, tons of tests. Also, the player needs to sign off on it. So, it’s not just the medical staff going, ‘Hey, you’re going out there.’

“So, LeSean wanted to play. He felt like he was ready to play. And then, before the game, we took him to pregame, and he was running routes at full speed and bursting, so we thought he was ready to go. One hundred percent ready to go. That’s why we played him.”

The nuance that Ryan seemed to be overlooking is that even if McCoy looked well enough during warm-ups to play, and even if he wanted badly to be on the field, that doesn’t mean he had to be in the lineup. Common sense would have suggested that McCoy didn’t have enough time to heal from his Wednesday Buffalo Bills Jerseys injury and was putting himself at risk to be ineffective and potentially risk further injury that would jeopardize the Bills’ chances in their upcoming games.

McCoy might have felt “amazing” during his pregame tests, but that is not always an accurate indication of his fitness to withstand 60 minutes of full-speed, full-contact football — as ESPN injury expert Stephania Bell suggested in a tweet Sunday:
Despite the criticism, Ryan dug in his heels further Monday about his team’s decision to start McCoy.

“Will we do the same again? If every box is checked, then yes,” he insisted. “If any box is not checked, then no way are we going to play him. And we’ve said that from Day 1 about any player.”
Not only did the Bills start McCoy, but he played in nearly every snap in the first half of the game, a decision that could fall less on Ryan and more on offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn. Playing McCoy in Sunday’s game was risky, but keeping Gillislee on the bench for much of the first half was borderline senseless given McCoy’s condition and early-game performance.

Few were shocked by the third quarter when McCoy felt “a little pain” in his hamstring, was pulled from the game and sat on the bench with an ice pack over his left thigh.

Now, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, McCoy is on track to be listed as questionable again for a game against the New England Patriots that Ryan has already stated is critically important to the Bills’ season.

“We will see how the week unfolds,” Ryan said. “As soon as he said he had tightness in the hamstring, we took him out of the game as soon as he mentioned that. But that is where he is at. We will see how he progresses.”

Cheap Jerseys Ravens QB Joe Flacco: ‘Obviously not playing good enough’
Quarterback Joe Flacco accepted blame for a struggling offense that has held back the Baltimore Ravens for the first half of the season.

“I’m obviously not playing good enough,” Flacco said Wednesday after the team’s final practice of the bye week. “We’re not a good offense, and it starts with the Cheap nfl Jerseys quarterback. I got to be better.”
QB Joe Flacco is the 29th-rated passer in the NFL, and the Ravens rank 25th in the NFL in scoring. Noah K. Murray/USA TODAY Sports
The Ravens (3-4) rank 25th in the NFL in scoring with 19 points per game, and Flacco is the 29th-rated passer in the NFL (75.4). In Baltimore’s current four-game losing streak, Flacco has had the ball in his hands in the final two minutes and has failed to deliver the winning drive each time.

Coach John Harbaugh vehemently defended Flacco’s play.

“Joe Flacco is the key to our success. So, we need to Customized Jerseys all do everything in our power that all the things are falling in place for him,” Harbaugh said. “He can play. He can throw it. He can make decisions. He can score touchdowns for us. He can do all the things we need to do. We need to make sure that we give him a chance to do that.”

The Ravens have scored 10 offensive touchdowns this season. Only the Houston Texans have fewer.

Part of the inconsistencies on offense is due to injuries. Flacco and the Ravens have been without their top receiver in Steve Smith Sr. (ankle) and their best two linemen Baltimore Ravens Jerseys in guard Marshal Yanda (shoulder) and tackle Ronnie Stanley (foot) for a chunk of the season. The Ravens expect all of them to be ready to play after the bye.

As a result, the Ravens have struggled with poor blocking, penalties, dropped passes and interceptions.

“When you’re an offense in this league and things aren’t going great, a lot of times you can be so close, and I think we are on that verge of being really close,” Flacco said. “But it’s a bunch of little things, and it’s not just one thing. It’s things that add up. That’s why this game is an awesome thing: 11 guys have to be fully locked in for 60 minutes in order for it to work. Nobody notices that. We don’t even notice it when we’re out there playing, but it is the reality of it.”

Harbaugh reasserted that he’s “a Joe Flacco fan” and believes in him.

“Joe will take care of what he needs to do,” Harbaugh said. “I’m not worried about Joe taking care of what he needs to do. Joe works on it harder than anybody. He cares about it more than anybody. We need to protect him. We need to run routes. We need to create confidence in our passing game. We need to run the ball well. We need to do the things we need to do to make the offense work. And Joe will make the offense work.”

Cheap Jerseys Cincinnati Bengals: Carson Palmer Had Greatest QB Game, 7 Years Ago Today
Seven years ago today, on Oct. 25, 2009, Carson Palmer played the greatest game ever by a quarterback in the NFL.

By doing a little bit of research, I found under ESPN’s “All-time Best Games” tab that Palmer owns the highest QBR ever by a quarterback, an overall 99.9 rating from seven years ago.

QBR was first developed and implemented in Cheap nfl Jerseys 2008. It was created by a team from the ESPN Stats & Information group. It is scored on a range from 0-100, where 50 is average. The problem with the stat, however, is that only ESPN has the formula to calculate it.

Which leads to some questionable accolades:

A 2015 article by ProFootballTalk revealed that Charlie Batch also had a 99.9 overall QBR in a 2010 game against Tampa Bay, despite throwing for only 186 yards and two interceptions.

Batch’s performance has since been taken off the top spot of all time and was replaced by Cincinnati’s no. 1 overall pick in the 2003 draft.
The game itself was a blowout for the Bengals, but Palmer’s Customized Jerseys legendary outing was not the biggest story line. Cincinnati beat the Chicago Bears, 45-10, and what made headlines was Cedric Benson burning his former team for nearly 200 rushing yards.

Benson’s performance that day earned him the no. 5 spot on’s Top 10 revenge games. Palmer’s got him the top spot on a list on You can watch the full episode here.

Palmer threw touchdowns on the Bengals’ first four drives of the game; finding Chris Henry, Chad Ochocinco, J.P Foschi, and Laveranues Coles, respectively, for scores to give Cincinnati a 31-3 lead at the half.

On Cincinnati’s first drive of the second half, Palmer threw touchdown number five, finding Ochocinco from 13 yards out to give the Bengals a 35-3 advantage.

In six drives, the Bengals scored five touchdowns (all thrown by Palmer) and one field goal.

It wasn’t until Cincinnati’s seventh possession Arizona Cardinals Jerseys that Benson would finally reach the end zone against his former club, running in a one-yard score to make it a 45-10 game, which would stand as the final.

In the end, Palmer only threw for 233 yards, but he completed 20 of 24 passes and a career-high five touchdowns—a performance dubbed by ESPN as the greatest ever by an NFL quarterback.

If you go down the list, you will find Palmer is the only quarterback to have two games in the top 10. His four-touchdown performance in a 2010 victory over the San Diego Chargers — his last game as a Bengal at Paul Brown Stadium — ranks no. 7.

Current Bengals’ signal caller Andy Dalton cracks the Top 50 on one occasion. Against the Jets in 2013, Dalton tossed five touchdowns in a 49-9 victory. His 98.3 QBR in that win ranks 46th all time.

Fans love to compare Dalton and Palmer. The latter led Cincinnati out of the depths of the “Bungle” era. While the former has currently taken the team to five straight postseason trips.

On top of trumping Palmer in nearly every statistical passing category and team success, Dalton has eclipsed the former-Bengal in QBR, too.

From 2006-2010, Palmer posted a QBR of 90 or more six times. Dalton has done it nine times since 2012, including Sunday’s 90.2 rating in a win over Cleveland.

Palmer may have left Cincinnati on bad terms after the 2010 season, but at least Who Dey Nation can say he had the greatest outings — specifying QBR — during his tenure in the Queen City.

Cheap Jerseys Ryan Kerrigan Makes Presence Known Against Eagles
Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is not new to the Redskins-Eagles rivalry. The Purdue product had notched six sacks against the Eagles over his career entering Sunday’s game against Philadelphia at FedExField.
With Eagles Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson starting a 10-game suspension, rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai made his first career start on Sunday. Kerrigan welcomed him to the rivalry right away.

On the first play of the game, Kerrigan beat the Cheap nfl Jerseys rookie, helping safety Will Blackmon sack quarterback Carson Wentz. Later in the drive, Kerrigan beat Vaitai again, sacking Wentz for a six-yard loss.

“Yeah, fortunately I was,” Kerrigan said on being able to take advantage of the rookie. As a team, we were able to take advantage of some situations that we had out there, put them in negative yard situations, and come up with some big stops.”

Two drives later, Kerrigan beat Vaitai again, sacking Wentz for another six-yard loss. The sack put the Eagles in a third-and-long situation and they were unable to convert.

Despite facing a rookie, Kerrigan prepared just as hard as he would normally against a veteran like Johnson.

“[I prepared] no more than if I’m going against a Customized Jerseys veteran,” he said. “I study film and try to get some tendencies. Fortunately, I was able to find some things that worked and able to execute them.”

The sixth-year veteran registered two of the five sacks the Redskins defense had as a whole. The pass rush kept Wentz from getting in a rhythm, and the Eagles were unable to muster anything on offense until the fourth quarter.

“We just needed to get pressure in his face, get guys Washington Redskins Jerseys up the middle,” Kerrigan said on stopping Wentz. “Our interior guys did a great job today of doing that. It was awesome to see it fully come together for us defensively today. Didn’t allow them in the end zone, didn’t allow them across midfield until late in the game, so pretty awesome and hope we can keep this up the next few weeks.”

The Redskins defense has not allowed a touchdown since the first quarter against Baltimore two weeks ago. This defense, led in part by Kerrigan, is starting to find their identity.

“We’re a lot more confident out there,” he said. “We’re playing a lot better collective ball. Up until the fourth quarter, they didn’t have very many passing yards or rushing yards. If we keep those up, keep stacking together some good games, we can be a really good defense.”

Cheap Jerseys Fantasy football trade tips: Doug Martin’s bye is a perfect time to say hello
So I deserve hazard pay for this column — because I wrote it during Sunday night’s debate. It’s kinda hard to type, folks, when your skin is literally crawling.

Thank goodness we have fantasy football as a welcome Cheap nfl Jerseys diversion, right? So let’s get to the trade ideas, and start, as usual by noting the teams with Week 6 byes: the Vikings and Buccaneers. That means that the likes of Jerick McKinnon, Stephon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph, Matt Asiata, Mike Evans, Doug Martin, Charles Sims, Cameron Brate and Jameis Winston might be had at a discount.

Martin is particularly intriguing as a trade target. The Bucs RB has been on the shelf since Week 2, when he left a blowout loss to the Cardinals with a hamstring strain. He is expected to return in Week 7, though, and as importantly, he is expected to get his starting job back. Charles Sims had a Customized Jerseys chance to make some major inroads in Martin’s absence, but he failed to impress as a ball-carrier, averaging 3.0 yards over 28 carries in Weeks 3 and 4 before suffering a knee injury that will likely keep him out of Monday night’s game against the Panthers.
There’s a chance that Jacquizz Rodgers, slated to get most of the work Monday, will go bananas and cause Tampa Bay to reassess its options, but we’re talking about Jacquizz Rodgers, so, um, yeah. That game will take place before any substantive trade talks do, but assuming the Quizz doesn’t pop for a huge game, we can assume that all Martin needs to get the bulk of the work going forward is to have used his several weeks off to get his hammy healthy.

Once Martin does return, he has what appears to an enablers’ row of defenses waiting. And who should loom on the horizon, like an exceptionally tasty beignet, but the Saints? Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Yup, the Bucs square off with that bedraggled crew in both Weeks 14 and 16, making Martin an especially inviting acquisition for owners who have started 4-1 or are otherwise confident of reaching the playoffs.Remember when Miller was getting a ton of touches without getting into the end zone? Well, that’s all changed — on Sunday, he got just nine touches. Oh, and he still didn’t score, of course, while backup Alfred Blue got six carries to Miller’s eight. Blue did more with them, as well, averaging 6.9 yards to Miller’s 2.5 yards, adding insult the latter’s box-score injury.
Miller’s value may well be at its low point, which is, of course, the perfect time to make a relatively low-ball bid for him. Let’s not forget that the Texans just played one of the NFL’s toughest games, a road date with the Vikings, and the road ahead looks much less taxing, beginning with a Week 6 game against the Colts. Okay, the Broncos arrive after that, but then it’s the Lions. Okay, a bye comes after that (sheesh), but then come the Jaguars, Raiders and Chargers.

DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins

Miami Coach Adam Gase described his team’s offense in a 30-17 home loss to the Titans Sunday as “inept,” and it’s hard to argue. The Dolphins held the ball for barely over 23 minutes and racked up just 200 net yards, leaving Gase saying his team needs to “figure something out.”

One Dolphin who looked fairly ept (note: not a word) was Parker, who caught two passes for 70 yards, including a 50-yard effort. That came on three targets, which means that a) he was quite efficient and b) among the things Gase should probably figure out is how to get the ball to his team’s 2015 first-round pick a little more often. It’s not like much else is working, and it’s worth offering one of your interchangeable WR3-types to bet that Miami will realize that its sickly attack might look better if it gets Parker, averaging a healthy 16.5 yards per reception, more involved.

Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots

Here’s what I wrote last week: “This is the third week in a row he’s appeared in this space. I dunno, I guess I’ll keep trotting him out until he does something.”

Seattle Seahawks#3 Russell Wilson Jerseys

Cheap Jerseys Seahawks run game needs Russell Wilson’s legs
Through five games, the 4-1 Seattle Seahawks have a lot going for them. The defense has played well. Russell Wilson has battled through injuries. And tight end Jimmy Graham has been a pleasant surprise.

But the area where they most need to improve is obvious: Cheap nfl Jerseys the run game. The Seahawks are averaging just 3.17 yards per carry (30th in the league) and are 29th in Football Outsiders’ rushing efficiency rankings.

“Still trying to find it, in truth,” said assistant head coach/offensive line Tom Cable. “Sometimes it looks OK, and then other times it doesn’t look worth a damn. So we have work to do and continuing to chase it.”

One of the issues is that Wilson hasn’t been healthy. During his first four seasons in the NFL, Wilson averaged 38 rushing yards per game and 5.91 yards per carry. This year, he’s averaging 7 rushing yards per game and 1.67 YPC.

“It’s a different run game that we’re using right now,” Customized Jerseys said offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. “It’s still part of us. It’s still something that we’ve always had. The zone-read part of it has been used not as much, and we’ve gone to other styles of runs. They’re fine. But some of the things that we’ve done in the passing game, you’ve seen that we get the ball out pretty quick, we’re protecting the quarterback well. So that’s helped me feel more comfortable, whether it’s just dropping back, because it changes a lot of things.

“It changes when you’re not running all the styles of runs that you can normally have. It changes some of your play-actions, some of your movement game and that kind of thing. So some of the passes that we’ve been using, I think of them as just extended runs a little bit because you’re able to get 4, 6, 8 yards out of some of those passes.”

Bevell said that teams are still respecting Wilson’s ability as a runner, but the ankle and knee injuries he suffered in Weeks 1 and 3, respectively, have limited his mobility.
“They’re still worried about it, and they have to be,” Bevell said. “You don’t ever know when he’s going to be healthy. And you don’t know if we’re sandbagging him or not either. Seattle Seahawks Jerseys They have to worry about all that. You’ve seen Russell even at the end of the game, there he was scrambling and running out to the left side for a couple yards, so he’s not immobile back there. He still has the ability to move. So they have to be ready for it.”

In 2010 and 2011, even when the Seahawks had Marshawn Lynch, they ranked 28th and 14th in rushing efficiency, per Football Outsiders.

With four full years of Wilson, they’ve finished first twice, third and seventh.

Wilson said Thursday that his personal physical therapist is still treating him during the week, an indication that he still has work to do before he feels fully healthy. Given that that’s the case, the Seahawks’ best hope for jump-starting the run game in the short term is improved offensive line play.
Cable said first-round pick Germain Ifedi was “really inconsistent” and “very erratic” last week at right guard. He said right tackle Garry Gilliam has “just been too inconsistent in terms of the strength and power running the football.”

Asked to assess the run blocking overall, Cable said, “It’s just really, I think, hitting combinations. Putting your helmet where it needs to be based on the run call and things like that consistently.”

If Wilson’s health continues to improve, his legs will help the run game. But if the injuries are something he might have to deal with for most or all of the season, Bevell could rely on the short passing game even more.

“You’d like to get them both,” Cable said. “That’s really what we’re chasing here is to find that balance that makes us really dangerous, more explosive. Explosive plays have been OK, but I think that’s the one element that will tie the whole thing together, and I think we’ll be pretty tough.”

Cheap Jerseys 49ers need more from backup running backs if Carlos Hyde can’t play
– With two practices under their belt this week without running back Carlos Hyde, it’s unlikely that the San Francisco 49ers will have him available to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Niners coach Chip Kelly drove that point home Wednesday morning.

“We’ll monitor him during the week, but I Cheap nfl Jerseys think he’ll be a stretch to play this week,” Kelly said. “It’s a day-to-day thing. But he’s not going to go today, so I would imagine if he’s not going to go in the next couple of days, he’s not going to be ready to play on Sunday.”

That means the 49ers will likely have to turn to Customized Jerseys the same crew of backup running backs to step in for Hyde as last season, when Hyde missed nine games because of a foot injury. It’s a crew that includes Mike Davis, Shaun Draughn and, potentially, DuJuan Harris.

Kelly said Wednesday that if Hyde is unable to play, the Niners will use a rotation of those players to replace him, possibly including Harris if there’s a space San Francisco can find to promote him to the active roster from the practice squad.

Assuming that’s the case, the Niners will need much more San Francisco 49ers Jerseys from that trio than what it provided a year ago and so far this season. In 2015, Draughn, Davis and Harris combined to average just 3.34 yards per carry on 138 attempts with one touchdown in place of Hyde. Davis (1.8 yards per carry) and Draughn (2.1 yards per carry) have worked as the primary backups to Hyde in 2016, combining for 73 yards on 36 carries. They rank among the worst backs in the league in yards per attempt among backs with more than 10 carries.

While Draughn entered the season as the No. 2 back, recent signs have indicated that Davis has at least drawn even or maybe surpassed him.

“I think Mike has just done a nice job and I think Shaun had some opportunities in the Arizona game, but now Mike has done some things in practice,” Kelly said. “And the other guy is DuJuan that we’ve talked about — do we get him up on game day also, because he’s another guy that’s shown some things from a practice standpoint to try to really find out who that No. 2 guy is behind Carlos? So, we’ll see as it goes forward. What we do have to evaluate on is what we do in practice this week in terms of moving forward with who’s going to be really that guy behind Carlos.”
Davis was that guy last week against Buffalo, getting five carries for 13 yards after Hyde departed. It wasn’t much of a step forward for a player who was one of the least effective backs in the league last season.

“I feel comfortable,” Davis said. “I know I obviously always feel like I’ve got to get better and there’s a lot of things that I did miss in that game I feel like I’ve got to correct in the game, so I have just got to be more prepared.”

During the preseason, Davis showed signs of improvement after getting leaner and cutting out some of his favorite snacks, such as Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Davis spent time working out in Los Angeles with Rams running back Todd Gurley and spent time trying to learn the ins and outs of Kelly’s offense, which he said had some similarities to what he did at South Carolina.

There was no shortage of disappointment in Davis’ rookie season, something that he says he carries with him. The Niners hopes that can manifest into production.

“I always feel like I’ve got something to prove,” Davis said. “I always have got a chip on my shoulder, so I go into every game with that mindset.”
Draughn was a bit limited in the preseason by a rib injury, but he maintained the backup job despite his absence. But he also hasn’t been very effective this season, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Draughn isn’t sure there will be more opportunities with Hyde out, but he plans to be prepared in case it happens.

“Whatever the coaches decide — I don’t know what the plan is, but I’m always going to be prepared,” Draughn said.

Kelly also left open the door that the Niners could promote from the practice squad to add a third back for Sunday’s game if Hyde is out. Harris would be the most likely option because of his experience, but rookie Kelvin Taylor is also making progress.

Regardless, Davis says the back who plays the most will be the one that running backs coach Tom Rathman trusts the most.

“Obviously, it’s big between all of us, me, Shaun and DuJuan,” Davis said. “Coach Rath, he always makes sure that we know what we’re doing out there. If you don’t know what you’re doing, he’s not going to put you out there.

Cheap Jerseys Eagles greats Brian Dawkins, Donovan McNabb may have to wait for Hall of Fame
On Wednesday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its initial list of 94 players nominated for induction in 2017. Among candidates nominated for the first time were Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb. They join a host of former Eagles waiting for their chance at enshrinement, and some have been at it a lot longer than others.

Both Dawkins and McNabb may have a tough time Cheap nfl Jerseys making the final cut this year. The list will be trimmed from 94 players to 25, then to 15 finalists, before no more than eight players are selected for enshrinement. They’ll face stiff competition from other first time nominations like Ladainian Tomlinson, Hines Ward, and Jason Taylor, as well as finalists from last year, including Kurt Warner, Terrell Davis, and another former Eagle: Terrell Owens.

Dawkins has the superior claim and, even if denied in Customized Jerseys 2017, should certainly find his way to the Hall eventually. Dawkins, Troy Polamalu, and Ed Reed were the dominant safeties of the 2000s. He was selected to the Pro Bowl nine times, seven as an Eagle. He had 37 career interceptions, 26 sacks, 36 forced fumbles, and created at least one turnover in each of his 16 years in the league.

In 2002 Dawkins had one of the most memorable individual performances in team history against the Texans. He caught the only pass of his career, a shovel pass from Brian Mitchell (also a Hall of Fame nominee) on a fake punt, and took it 57 yards for a touchdown. He wasn’t finished. By the end of the game, Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys Dawkins was the only player in NFL history to have a touchdown reception, sack, interception, and fumble recovery in the same game.

McNabb had a much more tempestuous relationship with Philadelphia fans than Dawkins, despite leading the Eagles through the most prolonged period of success in team history. Taken in Andy Reid’s first draft with the second overall pick, McNabb went on to throw for 234 touchdowns, 37,276 yards, and was named to six Pro Bowls, including five straight from 2000 through 2004.

During the last four of those seasons, the Eagles would win four straight division titles, and make four straight NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. The relationship between McNabb and Owens dissolved during 2005, and the team’s success dipped as McNabb missed 13 games over the next three seasons.

While McNabb is undoubtedly the most successful Eagles quarterback since Norm Van Brocklin, his stature against league peers is less certain. His career extended into the era when passing numbers exploded across the NFL, yet he never threw for 4,000 yards and notched 30 touchdowns just once. His career completion percentage is below 60.

For comparison, Warner hit those marks in each of the three seasons he started 16 games, and had a completion mark of 65.5 percent. Even Randall Cunningham, an Eagles quarterback from another era and one for whom passes often took a backseat to highlight reel runs, reached the 30 touchdown mark twice in his career. Cunningham is also among the 94 nominees.

Other former Eagles on the list include Seth Joyner, Eric Allen, Sean Landeta, Ricky Watters, and Dick Vermeil. Joyner and Allen were stars on the much vaunted defense of the late Buddy Ryan, and are both candidates extremely deserving of selection. If selected, Landeta would be the second punter to enter the Hall. Brian Westbrook, nominated for the first time last year, was not among the 2017 nominees.
